Trump Business Sought to Bring In Almost 200 Workers on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s family business accelerated its recruitment of overseas employees on temporary visas this year, while his government was placing obstacles for other companies attempting to do the identical, an analysis published recently stated.

According to data from the federal labor department, the business aimed to bring in at least nearly 200 overseas employees in 2025 for short-term roles at the US president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The number of applications for H-2A and H-2B visas covering workers including waitstaff, office assistants, cleaning staff, culinary employees and agricultural laborers was the record submitted by the company, and up from over 120 in 2021, when his presidency ended.

It was also the fifth instance in a decade that the former president had attempted to hire more than 100 foreign employees for seasonal jobs at his Florida resort, based on labor statistics.

The disclosure comes amid a crackdown on immigration laws by his government that has included the introduction of a substantial charge on skilled worker visas; extra scrutiny of the actions of the millions of people who possess US visas; and tighter regulations for foreign students and reporters.

In total, the business sought to hire over 560 foreign laborers over the period Trump has been in the presidency, from his first term and during 2025.

Significantly, the former president was questioned by certain in the Republican party this week for comments defending the need for overseas employees when a company was unable to find people with “specific talents” to fill certain positions.

“You cannot just say a country is entering, going to spend $10bn to construct a plant, and going to take people off an unemployment line who have been unemployed in five years, and they’re going to start producing their missiles. It isn’t feasible that effectively,” he stated to a interviewer after she suggested that foreign workers lower the wages of American employees.
