Across the gaming landscape, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content about PlayStation for the first time. Last year proved to be a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it becomes clear that Xbox still intends to engage players with quality releases on its premier subscription.
The two games currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass soon that's deserving of attention.
On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of horror and action."
Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, drops on Jan. 7th β and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year may draw you in remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by Rebellion Developments, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine β Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
In summary, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they don't represent tentpole Microsoft studios games that validate the subscription alone. Yet, this selection are very dependable. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that failed to receive the spotlight they warranted upon launch β which makes them ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
