Pat Bamford Signs With Sheffield United After Initiating Derogatory Chants Targeting Coach Chris Wilder

The striker has signed with the Championship side only seven months following starting disrespectful taunts targeting the team's coach, Chris Wilder.

The 32-year-old striker, a free agent after departing from Leeds, has signed a agreement with the Championship club in difficulty until January. His lengthy time at Elland Road finished by mutual consent this past summer.

One of the player's final notable acts as a Leeds player involved leading abusive chants regarding Chris Wilder amid the club’s promotion party in April. Currently, the one-cap England player will be playing for Wilder as Sheffield United's boss looks to lift the team he loves out of the drop zone.

Previous History Between the Striker and the Manager

Both men had history before Leeds earned promotion back to the top flight the previous campaign while Sheffield United lost the playoff final to Sunderland. Wilder commented at the time: “Had a conversation with Patrick yesterday and I’ve no issue whatsoever with it. I'm uncertain about the words used from a fellow pro! However I valued and respected him giving me a call.

“We had a short while and similarly I talked with Daniel Farke too and had a half-hour chat with him and he's a super guy, a class act. Back in my playing days we would give it and accept it and that’s part and parcel of football at every level, even on Sunday league. I've got no problem at all. I am cool with it and I said that to Pat.”

Recent Playing Struggles

The forward featured in 18 appearances for Leeds in the previous campaign but the ex- Nottingham Forest, Chelsea FC & Middlesbrough player has struggled with fitness issues in recent years.
