24 Nigerian Schoolgirls Freed After Eight Days After Capture

A total of 24 Nigerian girls captured from the educational institution more than seven days back have been released, national leadership confirmed.

Attackers raided an educational institution located in local province recently, killing one staff member while capturing 25 students.

The nation's leader Bola Tinubu applauded security forces regarding their "quick action" following the event - while specific details regarding their liberation remained unclear.

West Africa's dominant power has experienced multiple incidents of kidnappings in recent years - including over numerous students abducted from faith-based academy days ago yet to be located.

Via official communication, a special adviser within the government asserted that every student taken from learning institution within the region had returned safely, noting that the occurrence triggered imitation captures across further regional provinces.

The president announced that additional forces would be deployed to "vulnerable areas to stop more cases involving abductions".

In a separate post on X, government leadership stated: "Military aviation must sustain constant observation across distant regions, aligning missions together with infantry to properly detect, contain, disrupt, and neutralise any dangerous presence."

More than fifteen hundred students got captured within learning facilities in recent years, during which 276 girls were abducted during the well-known major capture incident.

Recently, a minimum of 300 children and staff got captured at St Mary's School, a Catholic boarding school, located within regional territory.

Several dozen people abducted from the school were able to flee based on information from the Christian Association - yet approximately numerous individuals haven't been located.

The main Catholic cleric in the region has mentioned that the administration is making "no meaningful effort" to save captured persons.

The capture incident within educational premises was the third affecting the nation in a week, forcing national leadership to postpone travel plans to the G20 summit taking place in the southern nation recently to deal with the emergency.
